I thought I would take a moment to share with you a little about the author of Country Roads!! My name is Melanie..and I live in the wonderfully 'wild' state of West Virginina. I have lived here all of my life and honestly I do love it here. I couldn't imagine calling anyplace else on earth home.
Though I would love to travel to most anyplace on earth!
Traveling is one thing I really love. One day I would love to visit Italy..it has always intrigued me and would be #1 on my list of places I would want to visit most. Probably the only places I wouldn't want to visit would be places that seem 'scary'..or 'unsafe'..if you will. Like Iraq or something. Anyways..we love traveling to Amish Country in Ohio..you will hear me mention this alot in my blog. It holds a special place in our hearts for MANY reasons..but one being that we have been friends with a wonderful Amish couple for several years now and we love to visit with them. It definately reminds us of what a blessing Christian friendship is and also to slow down and take in life.
I have been a Christian since the age of 15. This is when I realized that I needed more in my life and Jesus was definately the answer! I wrote about my salvation story here if you'd like to read how I came to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. It was the BEST decision I have ever made and one I'll never turn back on. Though being a Christian in this ever-changing cruel world isn't always rainbows and roses..God never promised us that it would be an easy road to follow. Straight and narrow is the way..and though tough at times..I do my best to live a life that I feel would be pleasing to my Lord and Saviour. I'm not perfect by any means and make mistakes daily..but I know by the grace of God and His forgiveness..He is with me and helps me as I travel through life's 'country roads'.
I am a lover of animals..but I must admit I do prefer cats! They have always held a special place in my heart. Some other things I enjoy include but are not limited to photography, cooking, crafting, decorating, shopping, blogging, and of course, spending time with my beautiful family God has blessed me with.
The reason I chose the name Country Roads for my blog (other than the John Denver song..lol) is I think it relates to my life in many ways. Like I mentioned above..I feel like God is leading me through my 'country road'..my life has always consisted of a 'country road' no matter where I've traveled. Though I may travel many roads here on earth..I look forward to the day that I'm led to my heavenly home and travel on that last road to reach my final destination with my Lord!
