Lack of Blogging..

Hello Blogland!

Yes, I'm still alive over here.  Its been a hectic couple of weeks as my hubby has been on his summer vacation since the beginning of last week!  We went on a short stay in Ohio's Amish Country the end of last week, the first 'big' trip with Makayla.  All I can say is...

we survived.

No really, it wasn't that bad.  But I found out the hard way I can't eat or especially drink anything with lemon.  I had some mango lemonade and it gave my girl the belly ache that same evening.  Thank HEAVENS for gripe water!  To everyone on here (blogger) that ever mentioned the stuff...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  I don't know what we would have done without the stuff honestly.  It saved the day 2 or 3 times while we were away (great for when you can't get baby to burp also and they get gas from it). We overall had a good time, it was just different.  We were able to visit our amish friends a couple of times which was amazing.  I only wish I could have taken pictures of the amish women holding and fussing over Makayla!  Of course due to their beliefs, they don't like their picture to be taken.  I have a few pictures to share but unfortunately haven't had the time to upload them to the computer...but I promise to share them sooner than later!

This week has consisted of running around basically.  Getting caught up on laundry, house cleaning, plus just relaxing and enjoying time with my man while he's off from work.  Its been so nice having him home!  He went fishing with my dad one day, we went to a yard sale today, and I had my 6 week post pregnancy doctor appointment this week as well.  Oh and did I mention breastfeeing became VERY difficult while we were on vacation?  Due to the belly ache Makayla had the one day..I had to end up pumping and giving her a bottle of breastmilk.  And when we got home, she still wanted the bottle and not me.  Can we say I was not happy?  Understatement.  Not only did it mean twice the work (keep in mind I have a manual pump..not a fancy electric one) with cleaning bottles and the pump..but I missed that closeness with her.  So after some research online, I bought a breast shield when we were out one day to see if that would get her back to wanting me.  Sucess!!!  Anyone who ever encouters this problem, I HIGHLY recommend you getting a breast shield.  Its even made breastfeeding easier than before....

I'd better stop bragging.  Everytime I do it comes back to bite me.

So I'll end this post for now before I dig myself into a deeper hole!
