Please read..especially if your a mom

God spoke to me about doing this a few minutes ago and I want to be obedient and do this..for all you moms out there.  Last night I had a rough night..something was said to me that offended me alot..and alot of tears were shed.  I realized alot of what I was and have been feeling didn't have to do with what was said though..but rather what I'd been feeling for quite some time now.

If your a mom..especially a new one..you'll probably understand this.

You feel underappreciated.  You feel like your never good enough..that you don't do enough or play with your child enough or read to them enough or interact with them enough.  Even if your a stay at home mom and are with your child 24/7..you still feel this way (as is in my situation).  I have felt like this for a while.

So with that being said..I want to say something to all you moms out there..whether your a new mom, like me..or have been a mom for several years.

"Your doing a good job."

Not only do I feel like all the moms I've come to know on blogger and in 'real' life are excellent mothers..but most importantly..God knows your a good mother.  He can see us when others can't always see us.  He knows our heart and how much love we hold in it for our children.  He knows that even though we aren't always perfect..we try our hardest to be the best parents we can be for our children.

So just remember..when you may be feeling like your not doing a good enough job...you are.  Not just in God's eyes..but mine too.

  2. Melanie, you are a GREAT mom and don't ever let anyone make you feel otherwise. Thank you for this post. I'm sure that there are plenty of other moms out there who feel that way, and I used to be one of them. I finally decided that as long as I am happy with my parenting, my kids are happy and well-adjusted, and my husband and I are doing the best we can for them...well, that's what matters. Any other opinions just don't count. ;)
